Richard Griffis, Chief Operating Officer

Griffis is a former member of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival Board of Directors and served as the organization’s Marketing Director for the 2009 season. Prior to that, he was the Editor/Associate Publisher of Jackson Publishing Company. Previously, Griffis worked in the newspaper industry, holding editing positions with The (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) Sun News, The (Fort Wayne, Ind.) News-Sentinel and Fairbanks (Alaska) Daily News-Miner.

Janet Meyer, Development Director

Meyer, first supported the Festival in 1995 and later performed in the Festival during the 1999 -2001 seasons. A professional arts administrator for the past twenty-five years, she joined the Festival as Development Director in 2011.  Most recently she was the Executive Director of Sculpture in the South in Summerville, SC and was the founder of the Northern Wildlife Art Expo in Lansing, MI. She received her BFA in painting from Eastern Michigan University and has studied seven years of master classes in both directing & acting at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, Michigan.
