Bard Talks are held before Shakespeare performances at the Michigan Shakespeare Festival. Professors from area universities share Shakespeare history and highlights of his plays with audience members.

Kirk Hendershott-Kraetzer is an associate professor of humanities at Olivet College, where he also serves as chair of the Humanities Department. He has been studying Shakespeare for 20 years, and has presented work on Shakespearean performance and teaching Shakespeare at numerous national and international seminars and workshops.
David Blixt, actor, author, and longtime MSF Artistic Associate, has appeared onstage at the Goodman Theatre, the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, CityLit, Northlight, and the First Folio Shakespeare Festival, as well as Lifeline, Griffin, the Shakespeare Theatre of Washington D.C., and the Stratford Festival Friends in Chicago. His first novel,
The Master of Verona, was published by St. Martin's Press in 2007. It's now available in trade paperback.
